"What are you doing?" Asks mom.
"Writing the goals for the New Year." Answers Joe.
"And what did you put?" Asks mom.
"To lose 20 kilos, read 20 books, buy a bicycle, be more economical and learn French." Aswers Joe.
"This list is wrong!" Says mom.
"Mother! The goals are mine." Speaks Joe
"This list is a wish list, not a goal list." Says Mom.
"How to make a list of goals?" Asks Joe.
"For example you want the bicycle. How Much is It?" Asks Mom.
"120. "* Aswers Joe.
"Every month you save ten for the bike. That is a goal." Explains mom.
"I'll start over..." Says Joe.
Goals for the New Year
1) Every 18 days lose 1 kilo.
2) Every 18 days read 1 book.
3) Every month save 10 $ for the bike.
4) Every month save 10% of the allowance.
5) Study French for 15 minutes every day.
"Ready!" Says Joe.
"Now yes! It is a list of goals. Doesn't it seem that easy?" Asks mom.
" Yes." Joe runs to show his list to Zak.
"We had not agreed to lose 20 kilos each?" Asks Zak.
" Yes! If every 18 days I lose 1 kilo at the end of the year it will be 20 kilos." Answers Joe.
"Got it. His list seems easier than mine." Concludes Zak.
"Mine is for goals and yours for wishes." Says Joe.
"Help me fix mine?" Asks Zak.
"Of course!" Answers Joe.
"How much a puppy costs?" Asks Zak.
" Let's go to the pet shop to ask." The two go to the pet shop.
"Good Morning! Boys, came to buy birdseed for Ludovic ?" Asks Lilly.
"Not! He still has it from last week. We came to ask when a dog costs?" Asks Joe.
"It depends on the breed." Answers Lilly.
"I want a puppy like Aunt Meg". Says Zak.
"Hers was adopted. She spends an average of 50 * a month here in the store."
"It's all my allowance. And now?" Asks Zak.
"We need an allowance for the dog." Says Joe.
"And how are we going to achieve this?" Asks Zak.
"You have to ask your parents." Answets Lilly.
"Thanks. Aunt Lilly." Says Zak.
"You're welcome." The two leave the pet shop very sad.
"Hi boys!" Says Joseph.
"Hi Dad!" Says Zak.
"Hi Uncle Joseph!" Says Joe.
"Why are they with these faces?" Asks Joseph.
"I will not be able to meet a New Year's goal." Answers Zak.
"But the new year hasn't even started." Says Joseph.
"I want a puppy, but to support him I need 50 every month." Says Zak.
"You will need an allowance increase." Says Joseph.
"Yes." Says Zak.
"To increase your allowance I have to increase your functions." Says Joseph.
"What functions?" Asks Zak.
"Your domestic activities. You'll have to take care of the puppy, water the plants and wash the yard." Says Joseph.
"Wash the yard?" Says Zak.
"I'll help you, Zak." Says Joe.
"Thank you, Joe!!!" Says Zak.
"Which puppy do you want, son?" Asks Joseph.
"Just like Aunt Meg". Answers Zak.
"I'll give you one for Christmas." Says Joseph.
"You are the best dad in the world!" Says Zak.
