It was around the sixth hour when Nicodemus arrived.
"Shalom, may I speak with Cleophas?" John Mark replied:
"Shalom, Cleophas is not here."
"I have an announcement."
"Go in and tell everyone at once." He entered the room. Nicodemus exchanged glances with Mary, and she asked:
"Nicodemus, has he been condemned?"
"Yes, madam. Condemned to death by crucifixion."
"Let's go!"
"Madam, you will have to endure much pain."
"With God I will endure everything, even the Valley of Death."
She leaves, Nicodemus, John, me, the Archangel Raphael, and some other angels accompany her.
Some time passed, and we were in the place that became known as the Via Crucis. Jesus falls, and an angel holds the cross to prevent it from crushing him, and I realized that many angels helped him. Jesus allowed him to carry the cross with him from then on. After completing the Via Crucis, he was crucified at a place called Golgotha.
"Raphael, aren't you going to take Jesus down from the cross?"
"Devil, I'm not disobedient like you."
"Are you going to let the Son of God die on a cross? The cross is a curse."
"I already told you I'm not like you."
"Do you think you'll achieve anything just by praying?"
"Prayer is the most powerful weapon one has."
"I want to see what you're praying."
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want…"
"A psalm?!"
"You can sing!" The angels begin to sing:
"Through green pastures and meadows I go…"
"Oh no!!! What an irritating melody." The Devil and the demons leave.
Jesus was on the cross; every difficulty he had breathing made Mary's heart leap and her legs tremble. Then, one by one, the angels began to hold her up as Aaron and Hur did with Moses.
"Lady, shouldn't we go back?"
"John, I have someone to sustain me. The love I have for God is greater than anything. I will stay until the end."
At sunset, the soldiers went to remove the bodies from the crosses.
"Longinus, this one seems dead."
"I'll really pierce him with my sword to be sure." Longinus pierced his sword, and water and blood gushed from Jesus' chest. Something splashed into his eye.
"Ouch!" He removed the liquid. And his vision, which had been blurry, became perfect. "I am healed!"
Mary felt her heart pierced and let herself prostrate herself. Hearing the soldier's words, she remembered the Elisha's prophecy. She was certain that Jesus was already with his father. She signaled for the angels to ascend to receive him.
"John, give me a moment."
"Yes." John stepped away.
"Messengers, thank you very much. But you may go." One of the angels answered her:
"Mother, this is not yet the end. He asked us to accompany him, and so we will."
"Can you imagine the pain I am feeling?"
"No, but God can." Mary fell silent, and John, worried, returned and came to fetch her.
The soldiers took Jesus down from the cross. She embraced him and began to clean his wounds. Her tears flowed. And she sang the same songs she sang to him to sleep when he was a child.
"I came to take Christ's soul. But where is his soul?" Raphael answered:
"Michael arrived before you. They have already left."
"Devil! Devil!"
"What is it, Marduk?"
"We are losing souls. Christ and Michael entered the Mansion of the Dead and are taking everyone. Including Adam."
"No! Let's stop them!" Hearing this, Raphael ordered them:
"Angels! Let's help them defeat the demons!"
Many minutes later...
Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea had already prepared the body. They were going to close the tomb, but Mary was weeping beside the body. They asked her to leave, but she didn't want to. I spoke in layman's terms again:
"Mother, I know you are suffering. But the prophecy must be fulfilled. What will happen here, not even the most intelligent of men will be able to explain. Let's go!"
Then Mary Magdalene entered and also asked her to leave. Finally, John:
"Lady, you will leave your other children alone. Let's all stay together. Like chicks under their mother's wings."
She then listened to them and left. The men closed the tomb, and two angels stood guard. Mary wanted to go to the mountain to pray.
"Lady, let's go home first and eat something."
"No, first I need to speak with God."
We went to the mountain. She tore her clothes and threw ashes on her head. And she did the same with her heart.
"Magdalene, I'm very tired. I didn't sleep last night. If something happens, will you wake me?"
"Of course, John!"
"Meow!"
"It would be easier for Theophilus to wake you." She laughs.
